Goldfields Golf Club gives Kalgoorlie a proper desert-stage championship test. The Graham Marsh-designed layout is an 18-hole grass course, open to the public and shaped through natural bushland with red-earth character all around it. Five teeing areas let the course stretch or soften, so beginners, club players and low markers can all find the right fight. The round asks for smart club selection, especially when the breeze and firm surrounds bring the ground game into play.
