Stonecutters Ridge Golf Club gives western Sydney its first Greg Norman-designed course—and it does not whisper its intentions. The 18-hole, par-71 layout runs 6,257 metres through rolling Eastern Creek terrain, mixing generous-looking landing areas with intimidating bunkers, demanding greens and water features that reward a plan rather than a prayer. Social golfers are welcome every day: generally all day Monday, Wednesday and Friday, and afternoons Tuesday, Thursday and weekends, subject to competitions and events. Add a driving range, short-game practice, coaching, hire gear, tennis and a clubhouse with brasserie, café and bar, and it is built for both serious rounds and cheerful post-round revisionism.
