Royal Canberra Golf Club
Set within the Westbourne Woods arboretum at Yarralumla, Royal Canberra Golf Club is a private, 27-hole facility comprising the Westbourne, Yarralumla and Brindabella nines. The current site opened in the 1960s after the club’s original Acton course was displaced by Lake Burley Griffin; Commander John Harris led the relocation and routing through mature pines and eucalypts. A major redevelopment by Ogilvy Clayton Cocking Mead in 2016 refined strategy and green complexes while preserving the natural, tranquil setting. Minutes from the Parliamentary Triangle, the club offers an elegant clubhouse, dining and bar, excellent short-game areas and practice range, plus an active calendar of member competitions, corporate days and functions. Membership is by nomination and reciprocals span dozens of leading clubs, underscoring Royal Canberra’s standing among Australia’s most respected private clubs.

A superbly groomed inland parkland course with slick bent greens, firm fairways and strategically placed sand that rewards accuracy; a thoughtful remodel sharpened risk‑reward lines and the mix of tree‑lined and more open stretches gives variety, challenge and pleasant lake‑edge views.
