Opened in 1927 on sandy marshland south-west of Adelaide, Glenelg was doubled to 18 holes within a year. Post-war airport expansion forced a Vern Morcom redesign in 1947, followed by a bold Neil Crafter & Bob Tuohy revamp (1998-2004) that introduced revetted-edge bunkering, restored natural wetlands and created today’s strategic, links-inspired championship layout ranked consistently inside Australia’s Top-40.
