The Hills

The Hills is Arrowtown’s private theatre of golf, where championship fairways share space with sculpture, mountain views, and a club culture built around drama. The course grew from Sir Michael Hill’s personal project into one of New Zealand’s most talked-about venues, helped by New Zealand Open exposure and its unmistakable art-gallery character. The golf itself is broad, strategic, and beautifully presented, with water, contour, and alpine wind giving the round its edge. It is a ranked-course fixture because it feels unlike anywhere else: part tournament venue, part landscape artwork, part exclusive Queenstown statement.
