Barnbougle began as a vision of local potato grower Richard Sattler to develop world-class seaside golf on Tasmania’s north-east coast. Collaborating with architects Tom Doak and Mike Clayton, The Dunes course opened in December 2004 and quickly ascended into the world’s top 40 rankings. In 2010, the second championship links, Lost Farm by Coore & Crenshaw, further solidified the resort’s reputation. The fun 14-hole Bougle Run short course followed in 2021. Today, the three courses, complemented by on-site cottages, villas, a lodge, restaurants and a spa, make Barnbougle a premier destination for golf enthusiasts.
